BREAKING NEWS!!!! UPDATE: 11:45PM 3 July 2013

This has just been posted up on NMITDR Facebook page:

McDonalds private security have dragged rooftop protester Janine Watson off the roof and injured her. She is in a stable condition and being currently treated in hospital.

... Some important points, this was not a police operation it was conducted by McDonalds private security firm who we have been told are on site to protect building assets and not to interact with protesters. Victorian Police have been outstanding in their professionalism and it is so sad to realise that McDonalds (who employ these guards) are happy to wait for the police to be off site and act illegally.

The media have been contacted by our team and this will be a huge story in the morning with Radio, TV and Newspapers having all been briefed.

Our thoughts go out to Janine and we hope she is OK. Not a great way to remember her 50th birthday of which she celebrated on site with the community earlier this evening.

No McDonalds in the Dandenong Ranges would like to remind everyone that we operate under a strict code of conduct of which violence and verbal abuse will not be tolerated.

If you want to help we suggest you share this information via your own social media channels and let McDonalds know on their Facebook page that this type of bullying will not be tolerated in the peaceful Dandenong Ranges.
